[ARCHIVED] Electric Vehicle Charging Station available at Town Hall

Charging Station

Our new electric vehicle charging station is now available in the rear parking lot of the Town Hall. One-hundred percent funded by grants, the station is able to charge two vehicles at a time and is free of charge for the public. The Town Hall uses it for a staff vehicle (Ford C-Max) acquired with a $15,900 grant for a net cost of $14,000. This allowed a shuffling of vehicles to remove an old GMC Jimmy - with over 165,000 miles getting approximately 10 miles per gallon - from the fleet. There will be significant fuel savings through this adjustment. Having fleet vehicles saves the Town significant expenses for mileage reimbursements. Going green is saving green and reducing Town operating expenses!
