Town of Coventry is Accepting Applications for the 2026 Connecticut Neighborhood Assistance Act

(COVENTRY, CT) – March 24, 2026 . . . The Town of Coventry is accepting applications for the 2026 Neighborhood Assistance Act (NAA) program. Qualifying programs must be conducted by tax-exempt or municipal organizations and provide an eligible service such as neighborhood assistance, job training, community services or energy conservation. Additional eligible program details can be found on the State of CT Department of Revenue Services website. Applicants should submit a completed form NAA-01 to the Town no later than June 1, 2026. Applications can be submitted physically to the Town Manager’s Office at Town Hall at 1712 Main Street, Coventry CT, 06238, or digitally to ataylor@coventry-ct.gov. After a public hearing on June 15, approved applications will be submitted to the DRS, who will post approved projects to their website later in the year.

About the Neighborhood Assistance Act:

The Connecticut Neighborhood Assistance Act (NAA) is a Tax Credit Program which provides an opportunity for businesses to receive a tax credit for making cash investments into community programs by municipal or tax-exempt organizations. Credits are distributed for approved programs by the Connecticut Department of Revenue Services (DRS), which can be 60% or up to 100% for a specific category of improvements. In order for a program to be eligible, an application must be submitted to the Town of Coventry and approved by the Coventry Town Council before being approved by the DRS.

Program details:

  • A business is limited to receiving  $150,000 in tax credits in a given funding year
  • A municipal or tax-exempt organization is eligible to receive an aggregate of $150,000 of funding for any programs in a given funding year
  • The minimum contribution for which a credit can be received is $250
  • Any program receiving $25,000 or more in NAA funding is required to provide a post-project audit prepared by a certified public accounting firm to the Town
