Programs & Services

Coventry Youth Services provide a comprehensive delivery of prevention, intervention, and support services for children, youth, and their families through its Youth Service Bureau. The Youth Services Coordinator is also the Municipal Agent for Youth and part of the Eastern Region Youth Services. Coventry Youth Services receives grants from the Department of Children and Families. Some of the many services and programs offered are listed below:

  • Advocacy & Service Referrals
  • Safe Sitter - Babysitting classes for 6th - 10th graders to teach the skills necessary to be an effective and safe babysitter.
  • Safe@Home - Classes for 4th - 6th graders to teach the skills to be home alone safely and hot to respond to illness, injury, and emergencies. 
  • Camperships - Financial assistance for youth whose family qualify to increase youth access to camp. Donate here, select Human Services Donation: Catalog - Coventry, CT
  • Educational Scholarships - Financial assistance for youth whose family qualify to increase access to school field trips and other education opportunities. 
  • Gearing Up to Learn - This program provides youth with backpacks and school supplies to ensure a successful school year.
  • Local Prevention Council - Prevention education sessions for teens and parents & Prevention Day in the Park, a community resource fair.
  • Reading Buddies - Seniors volunteer to read to Coventry Grammar School classrooms once a month.
  • Spread the Cheer - Annual holiday "crafternoon" afterschool event open to Coventry Grammar School students.
  • Youth Diversion Team
  • Mentoring Programs - A mentoring programs that connects Coventry High School students to GHR Elementary School students to engage in team building, leadership development, and craft activities.
